Atmospheric Composition

This proposal requests funds to continue and extend ground-based and aircraft lidar measurements, in support of the Network for the Detection of Atmospheric Chemical Change (NDACC) and for satellite validation. The ground-based lidars are mobile - housed in trailers - and have been used within the NDACC for implementation of their protocol for maintaining data quality within the Network. The AROTAL instrument is a DC-8 lidar which has been used for stratospheric process studies and for validation of satellite data sets.
