My background is in forestry (silviculture and ecological physiology). My research focus is on the assessment of vegetation function (species diversity, LAI, water content, pigments, photosynthetic light use efficiency and carbon/nitrogen cycling) using active fluorescence and passive remote sensing techniques. In my Ecosystem diversity project I have been fortunate to work with spectral time series from EO-1 Hyperion, AVIRIS and MASTER. One of the topics of high interest for me is the relationship between reflectance and fluorescence properties of major forest and crop species in relationship to vegetation properties.
