Current graduate student at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment (concentrating in Ecosystem Science and Conservation), and intern at NASA Ames Research Center via the University of Virginia's Intensive Summer School for Computing in the Environmental Sciences (ISSCENS) program.
Interested in fire ecology and modeling using WRF-FIRE, BehavePlus, FARSITE, etc. My experience is built around using GIS and statistical software to perform advanced analysis of environmental phenomena.
I am compelled to push forward the boundaries of current GIS and modeling technology, embracing 3D and spatio-temporal visualization, web-mapping, cloud computing, and mobile app development as tools for driving forward the current status-quo of environmental computing. Ultimately I hope to find novel, innovative ways to link together cutting-edge computer programming with ecology and environmental science.(edit description)
