I am interested in carbon cycle dynamics and the impact of changing surface hydrology on vegetation gross primary productivity (GPP) and CO2 and CH4 emissions in Arctic-Boreal and permafrost regions.
I am currently developing a remote sensing based CO2 and CH4 terrestrial emissions model for tundra and peatland systems, and am evaluating model simulations using eddy covariance datasets. I am also using recently validated satellite passive microwave remote sensing based fractional surface water retrievals to examine seasonal/annual variability in surface inundation, flooding events, and recent changes within the Arctic-Boreal region.(edit description)
